Coast Capital Youth Education Awards - Deadline extended (May 1, 2020)

It’s time once again for the Coast Capital Savings Youth Education Awards. As you may be aware, our Education Awards celebrate students who have overcome significant life challenges and succeeded during their school years. Our awards provide them with a financial boost as they transition to pursuing their post-secondary education.

This year, we’re once again offering 61 awards – 60 Standing Tall Awards, each worth $2,500, and one Beth Hutchinson Award (for Surrey School District students only), worth $5,000. This means that we have committed to offering over $150,000 to B.C. students to help them achieve what’s important in their life.

To spread the word about this program, we’ve mailed an Education Awards information package to schools in your district that includes: (1) a program overview letter; (2) posters to promote the program; and (3) the 2020 award application form.

For your reference, we’ve included a copy of the application form, as well as a copy of the breakdown of our awards and the application submission deadline for your district with this email. These documents can also be found on our website for download:

You decide the selection process

Once you’ve received the applications from the school counsellors in your school district, we’ll be looking to you to select the recipient(s). You know your students best, and have the insight to identify those in your district who are most deserving of our financial support. The awards can then be presented at the winner’s year-end award ceremony.
