The Lunchsmart VSB Food Services Healthy Eating Program is provided daily in the Hastings school lunchroom. Lunchsmart is available to help children who require nutritional services at school. Healthy eating helps children learn. Lunchsmart menus are prepared following the Provincial guidelines for healthy eating at school. The Lunchsmart program does not provide for special diets.
All students participating in the Lunchsmart program must have a signed 2019/20 Lunchsmart Elementary School Program Enrolment Form on file at the school. The enrolment form confirms a child has their family's consent to participate in the program.
Families participating in the Lunchsmart program are expected to contribute monthly toward the program cost. Families wanting to apply for a subsidy can indicate this on the enrolment form. Families should indicate what their monthly contribution to the program cost will be on the enrolment form.
Each month, enrolled students will receive a Lunchsmart registration payment envelope, including a menu. A separate envelope for each child participating in the program must be returned to the school by each monthly due date. Please write your child's full name and correct division number on the envelope. Even families unable to make a monthly contribution must return completed envelopes to the school. Lunches for each month are ordered based on the number of envelopes received. Lunch may not be available for students who return their monthly envelope late or who don't return a monthly envelope at all. Please return envelopes to the school on time.
Extra monthly registration payment envelopes are available in the lunchroom or can be downloaded under Resources.
