As defined, REPRO is a strengths-based program specifically designed to help children of Filipino immigrants whose moms come as caregivers to Canada. It is an 18 week program that help Filipino students in finding their true selves, the resilient factors that they need to overcome adversities brought about by the separation and reunification issues. It is a Filipino solution to a Filipino problem, facilitated and carried out in the Tagalog Language by trained community volunteers under the guidance of Joy Jose, Filipino Multicultural Liaison Worker. It supports the Socio-emotional learning aspect of our school's core competencies.
Yesterday's ceremony showed off the boy's and the families commitments to resilience. It was a nice event to cap of the day. Thank you to all the people that put in amazing amounts of hours to make this program work.
