The School Liaison Officer at Killarney combines education, investigation,
law enforcement, counseling, crime prevention and community relations to meet
the diverse needs of everyone in the school population. The Officer
provides students with information about the role of the police in our
community and introduces students to a possible career in policing.
Constable Timothy Hauser has been a Police
Officer with the Vancouver Police Department for approximately 12 years and has
worked as a Patrol Officer in Vancouver's downtown
eastside, downtown core/business district, south-east Vancouver and as an
Investigator in the Property Crime Unit. Constable Hauser is also a member
of the Vancouver Police Public Safety Unit, Search and Canvass Team,
Bicycle Squad and the Ceremonial Unit. He is currently the School Liaison
Officer at Killarney Secondary School and its respective feeder elementary
schools. Prior to his policing career, he was a high school music teacher and
is still a practising teacher in the Province of British Columbia. He is an
active member of the community and has been a volunteer at the Union Gospel
Mission within the downtown eastside for over 15 years and is in his 19th
year of service as a Canadian Forces Reservist with the Band of the 15th Field
Artillery Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery.
