Service/volunteer hours

If you do service for a teacher or are in involved in a service-related club, your service hour logs are now due for submission.  These must be submitted to your service sponsor teacher before Friday, May 14.  Please verify your hours with your sponsor teacher and they will submit your service hours to the awards committee for consideration of service certificates and award pins.  Please note: students can not submit service hours directly to the awards committee.  This must be done through a teacher.  Also, you are reminded to continue keeping track of your service hours for the May to June period and to submit logs again the final week of classes in June.                                                                                                                        N. Tuesday, May 11 - AP Psychology exam CAFETERIA will be closed.

Creative OUTlets Stop-Motion Film-making Workshop:  This free two-day workshop is for those aged 13 - 18 interested in making projects focused on LGBT2Q+ identities, issues and themes.  This will be offered through Zoom, May 27 - 28, 12 - 3pm.  Register by May 17 at

Are you interested in becoming a teacher?  The Vancouver Secondary Teachers' Association is offering a bursary for someone like you. 

There is also the Oliver Matthew Award - this award

is presented to a grad who shows excellent qualities.  Instead of applying for this award, you NOMINATE another grad!

 Also, consider applying for the HOUNDS Strength of Character Award.  Every year, this award is presented to a graduating student who best exemplifies the strength of character found in our HOUNDS Code of Conduct.

Canadian Girls Baseball Vancouver Summer ProgramThis seven-session program will be offered from Sat. July 10 - Sat. Aug. 28, 10:15 am - 12:00 noon at Sunrise Park.  For persons up to 16 years of age, no experience necessary.  Cost is $125.  For information and registration go to

YouthToSea Leadership Program:  Ocean Wise is offering this opportunity for youth, 15 - 18 years of age, to build leadership, problem-solving and life skills.  Youth will participate in outdoor excursions, skills-building workshops, and create their own ocean service project relating to marine conservation.  All training, certifications and retreats are fully-funded, so there are no costs to participants.  Information and registration is at
