Dear Grade 7 Parents and Guardians,  

Welcome to Tupper!  If you were not able to attend our Grade 8 Parent Information night on January 26, 2022, please click here to access the recorded event.

Parent Orientation
On Thursday, September 1, 2022, Tupper Secondary will be hosting a parent orientation for our grade 8 parents. If you would like to attend this in person event, please click the link below and kindly complete the registration form.

Location: Tupper auditorium
Time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

The parent orientation will be held in the auditorium, and we will cover important information such as:
1. communication,
2. our community,
3. grade 8 program, and
4. available supports for students.
Your child(ren) may attend this event with you if they would like. Please register here and come with questions.

Link Crew – Grade 8 Orientation 

GRADE 8 OPENING DAY PROCEDURES: 

The staff and students of Tupper Secondary invite the Class of 2027 to our annual LINK CREW GRADE 8 ORIENTATION.
Date: Tuesday, September 6, 2022
Time: 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM
Location: Small Gym


Report to Sir Charles Tupper Secondary by 8:30 AM. The Link Crew Leaders will meet the grade 8s in the small gym (entrance off 24th and St. George Street). The purpose of this orientation is to make the transition from elementary school to high school a positive experience. Each grade 8 will be paired with a leader to mentor them. The morning will involve group activities designed to address students’ needs and concerns in an enjoyable manner. Students should bring water and may also bring a snack.
The orientation will be followed by homeroom class at 10:30 AM and will last approximately 45 minutes.

If you will be returning late to school, please visit the school website at http://tupper.vsb.bc.ca and download the Notice of Late Return form, fill out the form, and send it back to the school as soon as possible. Also, please bookmark our website for school communications and information.


Wednesday, September 7, 2022, will be a full day of classes starting at 8:41 AM. Please bring a lunch. The Flexible Instructional Time (FIT) schedule will begin the week on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. It is crucial to be on time for your classes and we welcome students to get to school early.




GRADE 8 REGISTRATION (FOR CURRENT VSB STUDENTS):

Students enrolling in Vancouver School District who are moving from grade 7 to Grade 8 in September do not need to complete the online application form. GRADE 8 REGISTRATION (FOR NON-VSB STUDENTS):

If you are currently attending a NON-VSB school, you need to complete the online application form by following this link: Student Registration - VSB


CROSS-BOUNDARY APPLICATIONS:

Cross-Boundary application (living outside the Tupper catchment area) is done ONLINE from the first school day of February until the last school day of February. Please visit the Cross-Boundary Application page for timelines and more information.

ONLY Cross-Boundary successful Applicants require to submit the following documents AFTER their applications are being accepted. The school will inform you of the status of your application by March 31.  

  • Proof of address (eg, recent property tax notice or rental agreement, AND a utility bill such as hydro, gas, TV/cable or telephone bill) 
  • Copy of most recent report card
  • Student's birth certificate 
  • Proof of legal guardianship or custody (if applicable)
  • Copy of immunization record (only if coming from a school outside the Vancouver School District)
