Graduation Day June 25th, 2021 Schedule and Important Safety Information
Dear Graduates and Families,
We look forward to hosting our graduation ceremony at Tupper on Friday, June 25th between 9am and 4:15pm. We are grateful that the Provincial Health Office has introduced protocols to allow us to provide a similar graduation ceremony that we were able to provide to our graduates last year which included providing parents/guardians the opportunity to see their children cross the stage. The graduation ceremony will take place in the auditorium which will allow us to control sound, lighting, social distancing protocols, and provide a live streaming of the event via MS Teams. Please note that classes for grades eight to eleven will be in session on this date, so there will be activity around the building, limited parking and limited staff available to assist in marshalling.
Please see ceremony schedule below and note that students have been scheduled in their chosen table groups (maximum of 10). Grads will receive their caps and gowns in advance (on Monday, June 21) and will be able to keep them as a memento of the occasion. Please note they will require steaming in advance of the ceremony. This schedule can be found below. We ask that grads and guests arrive (punctually) 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time and report to the sign-in area located at North entrance of the building on 23rd Avenue. We are unable to provide on-site parking, so we ask that parents park off-site and walk to the South-West corner of the building to meet the marshals. Note there will be signs and marshals to guide grads and families.
To ensure our grad ceremony can continue all day for everyone, we must all adhere to the provincial health guidelines. With these guidelines in mind, we must ask that grads limit guests to four family members. While on-site, we ask that all students and family community members please wear masks and adhere to social distancing (2 metres/6 feet apart), refrain from gathering in groups, and we ask that you promptly leave the site following your child’s ceremony.
As each graduate crosses the stage and has their picture taken by a professional photographer, their guests will have the opportunity to view from the exterior of the south-west entrance to the auditorium (note picture below). Members of each table group will provide the audience for the stage crossing and will have the opportunity to cheer, clap and/or record their peers. After all the graduates in the table group have crossed the stage, they will exit the auditorium and join their families at the main entrance of the school on 24th avenue. We ask that graduates and guests exit the Tupper school grounds immediately after the ceremony to allow the next table group to come through.
I want to extend my thanks and appreciation to the student Grad Council and Tupper staff sponsors for the planning and coordination of this event. We are excited to offer this ceremony in recognition of our grads and anticipate that it will be a memorable event for all.
Grad Gown Pick Up Information:
All Graduates are required to go to the small gym on June 21st as per the schedule below. At this time, we will verify your transcript information as well as pick up your gowns. Please be reminded that gowns need to be steamed.
