Perseverantia Valemus is the Sir Charles Tupper school motto – “Through Perseverance We Prosper”. This award is given to the graduating student who has exhibited exemplary academic achievement and contribution to the school and broader community. This award is given to the student who has not taken the typical path to high school graduation and has shown exceptional perseverance in achieving their goals.
This year, we are proud to present the inaugural Perseverantia Valemus award to Alexa Bailey. Alexa has accelerated through her academics at Sir Charles Tupper with excellence and graduated in just three years! In addition to her academic accomplishments, she has made tremendous contributions to Tupper and the broader community. When Alexa came to the school in grade 8 she started and subsequently ran the Tupper Improv Club, and she was also active in school sports teams. While in grade 9 she founded, and is now President of, “Girls to the Power of Math”, a girl-to-girl mentoring program aimed at inspiring a love of math in female identifying elementary students. Alexa is continuing her education at Cegép Garneau in Quebec City where she will study natural and applied sciences. Congratulations Alexa!
