Comments about the Synergy Program from Current Students and Synergy Alumni

Grade 8s

  • A lot of projects, but they are a fun learning experience.
  • It pushes one to work out of their normal work habits.
  • Meeting people with the same goal as you but with different talents.
  • In Synergy, we always collaborate with each other.
  • We go to the library often and this helps us do better in projects.

Grade 9s

  • It has been a great experience being able to learn in a tightknit community that is Synergy.
  • In the Synergy Program, the things that are taught by teachers are always very in-depth. Both fascinating details and important analyses of topics are provided, and it truly is an engaging learning environment.
  • Synergy not only offers a friendly student body, but also a welcoming group of teachers. All Synergy teachers are undoubtably passionate about their area of expertise and are some of the most supportive teachers I’ve ever met.
  • Synergy provides us with an intellectual challenge that benefits our growth as students and people.
  • On top of the valuable connections you form in the program with your peers and teachers, there is also a lot of opportunity for deeper analysis of subjects in the numerous creative projects, such as ICE/D.

Grade 10/11s

  • Our Synergy experience was enlightening in many ways, and we had the opportunity to connect deeply with like-minded individuals. We bonded over shared experiences (both good and bad) and interacted with the Churchill community. We earned many learning opportunities and experiences along the way, making Synergy and overall very fun and rewarding program. These experiences helped us later in our school life by teaching us collaborative skills and preparing us for a more intensive workload.
  • Paves a similar mindset to possibly enter future academic programs (e.g. Prelude and IB) and creates a collaborative community.
  • Teaches basic skills early on to help prepare for assignments later in our school career (e.g. annotated bibliography). ICE/D presentations are good experiences for learning how to form projects around a big question.
  • Working with a like-minded group of students created a ‘home’ in a large school.

Grade 12s

  • Paves a similar mindset to possibly enter future academic programs (e.g. Prelude and IB) and creates a collaborative community.
  • Teaches basic skills early on to help prepare for assignments later in our school career (e.g. annotated bibliography). ICE/D presentations are good experiences for learning how to form projects around a big question.
  • Working with a like-minded group of students created a ‘home’ in a large school.
