A minimum of FIVE communications over the school year. See table below for expectations for each subject area.
November 7, 2019 update:
Arts, Core French and PHE were previously required to be reported on in only 1 written report (either Jan or June) with 1 other communication.

Continuity of Learning Update (April 29, 2020)
Assessment and CSL post spring break while in-class instruction is suspended
As per the Elementary Assessment and Reporting Guidelines (April 24), please note the following: Teachers are still responsible for ensuring parents have received a minimum of 5 communications of learning cumulatively over the course of the entire school year.
At this time, fully respecting the per subject area requirements for communications of learning may not be possible—teachers should however focus on the competencies and key Literacy and Numeracy skills, rather than mastery of specific content.
