Our School

We offer Vancouver School Board classes... online!

Since 1990, we've provided a high-quality, comprehensive, flexible and engaging education program that provides an alternative to traditional in-person learning for many different students.

A school schedule that fits with your life schedule.

Our online classes are ideal for students with a wide range of needs. Some of our students take one or two online courses as part of a graduation plan. Some of our students are looking to upgrade a mark or jump ahead in their studies. Some of our students are elite athletes or performers that need a flexible school schedule. Some of our students find that online learning, for a variety of reasons, is simply a better fit. Each of our students works with a VLN counsellor to create a personalized learning plan and/or course plan to establish individual timelines and goals.

Our courses are taught by VSB teachers.

Having a great teacher makes all the difference. All our courses are taught by skilled, Vancouver School Board teachers. These teachers are readily available to help support students with their learning.

Courses are approved by the BC Ministry of Education.

As part of the Vancouver School Board, our courses can be used toward a British Columbia Dogwood or Adult Graduation Certificate. We currently offer about 90 different courses that span all the full range of secondary studies. For a list of available course, see our Course List.

Available to all BC students.

While most of our students come from the Vancouver area, our course are also available to students from other parts of BC. Students can work at their own pace, when and where they choose.

Tuition is free for school-aged BC residents.

VLN courses are tuition-free to school age students who are Canadian citizens that reside in British Columbia. For information regarding fees for adults and non-BC residents, see Tuition Fees.

It's easy to sign up.

With continuous enrollment, you can sign up for most courses at any time. The process is simple and, in most cases, can be done online. For more information, visit How to Enroll.
