Message from PAC:
"Each year, the DLG PAC hosts a catered lunch to show our appreciation for the dedication and hard work of DLG staff. We are seeking direct donations to fund this year's staff appreciation lunch. Donations can be made via SchoolCash Online or by e-transfer. Donations over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt if made through SchoolCash Online. Please see the attached file for donation instructions. Thank you for helping us recognize the amazing staff at DLG!"
Parent Week:
With Mother's Day this weekend, we would like you to know that at DLG we will be having "Parent Week" (May 26-30) to celebrate mothers, fathers, guardians, and those adults who fulfill both roles with our students. We have some amazing students at our school, and this is because of the hard work parents do to raise your children. Your child's classes will be involved in activities during Parent Week that will celebrate and show appreciation for your hard work.
Summer School Registration:
Vancouver School Board Summer School registration is now open until May 21. If you are interested in the offerings, please see VSB Summer Learning https://www.vsb.bc.ca/page/5211/summer-learning
Intentions for Next Year:
If your family is moving away during the summer, please let our office know. We will be able to put your child's file together and prepare it for the next school, ensuring a smoother transition. Thank you.
Parking Reminder:
Please continue to respect the school parking lot as reserved for staff only. Do not use the lot, even if just for a few minutes, as these spots are important for staff to access the school and be ready for teaching your child. There is plenty of short-term street parking available around the school. Please leave the staff parking for the staff.
Special Thank You:
As a special thank you this week, I would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff and parents who are helping out with track. There are many adults involved, giving up their free time to make this happen. Ms. Mah has been the main organizer, working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that practices happen, students are transported, and that equipment is functional and ready to use. Thank you, Ms. Mah!
Have a great week everyone!
