DLG Weekly Newsletter
September 6, 2025
Dear DLG Families,
Thank you for a fantastic first week of school! It was heartwarming to see students reconnecting with friends and staff after a well-deserved summer break. We’re off to a strong start, and I’m excited for the year ahead.
🏃♂️ Terry Fox Run – A Strong Start!
We were fortunate to have clear air on Thursday afternoon, with the BC Government’s Air Quality Index at a safe level 2—perfect for our Terry Fox Run. Inspired by Terry’s steady determination, our students ran lap after lap for 30 minutes, showing incredible perseverance and school spirit.
But the run isn’t the end—our fundraising continues throughout September! Our goal is to raise $2,000 (about $5 per student) for the Terry Fox Foundation. Please consider donating and sharing our school’s donation page with friends and family:

Thanks to Ms. Louie’s class, QR codes are posted around the school to make donating even easier!
🏫 New Classes Begin Monday
We’ve received approval from the Vancouver School District to move into our new classes. By the end of the day Monday, all students will be settled into their permanent classrooms. Thank you for your patience and support during this transition—we’re excited to fully launch into the school year!
📅 First PAC Meeting – Tuesday, September 9 at 6:00 PM
All parents and guardians are welcome to attend our first PAC (Parent Advisory Council) meeting of the year. We’ll be joined by representatives from the VSB Project Office to share updates on the final stages of our seismic project, including the removal of the old school building. Our PAC website is https://www.dlgpac.com/
We hope to see you there!
🎤 Assemblies Are Back!
We held our first school-wide assembly this past Friday to welcome everyone back, introduce new staff and students, and review our Code of Conduct. You can view it here:
