Week of September 21, 2025
Dear DLG Families,
We hope you had a restful weekend! Here are some important updates and reminders from our school community:
🌿 Professional Development Day – Learning with the Musqueam Nation
Last Friday, our staff had the honour of spending the day at the Musqueam Cultural Centre, hosted by members of the Musqueam Nation. It was a powerful experience of learning and unlearning, as we explored the history and development of the land we live and learn on. We look forward to sharing this knowledge with your children in meaningful ways.
Special thanks to our DLG Professional Development Committee and Trudi Harris from the VSB Indigenous Education Department for organizing this impactful day.
💳 School Fees
Our school fee schedule is now posted on our website. It includes details about fees and our hardship policy to support families in need.

☔ Rainy Weather Reminder
At DLG, we head outside for recess and lunch in all weather conditions. Unless Environment Canada issues an atmospheric river warning during those times, students are expected to be outdoors. Please check the forecast each morning and send your child dressed appropriately for the weather.
🏗️ Seismic Upgrading – FAQ Now Online
Thank you to everyone who submitted questions about the removal of our old school building. We’ve compiled your questions into a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section now available on our website.

🧡 Orange Shirt Assembly – This Friday
September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – there will be no school that day.
To honour this important day, we will hold a school-wide assembly on Friday, September 26 focused on reconciliation. We encourage students to wear orange shirts to show their support and commitment.
🏃♂️ Terry Fox Fundraising
Our Terry Fox campaign is still going strong! Terry’s legacy continues to inspire us all. Please consider donating and sharing our donation page with friends, family, and colleagues.

🚗 Parking Reminder
We’ve noticed a few unauthorized vehicles in school, daycare, and EV parking spots. Please park on the street and walk the short distance to the school. This helps ensure staff can access the building safely and focus on preparing for your children’s learning.
