Welcome to the Carleton Library Learning Commons!

Within the past school year, we have been busy supporting all of our students in the library.  We would like to continue supporting all of you now at home with some fun online resources.  Here are some fantastic links that we are excited to share with you:

Vancouver Public Library.  Vancouver Public Library They have a large digital library that gives kids access to online books either with an adult or without.  No library card? No problem, you can register online.

Audible  A great collection of audio books for kids, from picture books to fairytales and novels.  Free instant streaming, no accounts needed!

Tumblebooks You are being given temporary free access to their incredibly large database of ebooks including audio books and graphic novels.  If you use the direct link you do to need the password and username.

Storytime From Space Did you ever wonder how astronauts read a book in space?  You need to check out this website, which is the project of the Global Education Foundation.  They actually send children's books to the International Space Station and record them reading it.

International Children’s Digital Library Come and explore the variety of books that are available from all over the world.  Learn about the history of these diverse cultures through the amazing collection!

Story Online This fantastic award – winning children’s literacy website, Storyline Online, streams videos which feature celebrated actors reading children’s books.  The illustrations are beautiful and eye catching.

Storybooks Canada This great online resource promotes literacy and language within the community.  Text is available in English, French, and most widely spoken immigrant and refugee languages of Canada. Experience the collection that this website has to offer.

Loyal Books A wide range of audio and ebooks available to read for free.  Books are available in different languages.
