DLG Weekly Update: November 3–7, 2025

Dear DLG Families,

Thank you all for a fun and festive week! With Halloween excitement in the air, our students were buzzing with energy. A special thank you to the many parents who joined us for the costume parade—it was wonderful to see our community come together and celebrate. The students loved showing off their creative costumes and seeing their friends dressed up too!

Here’s what’s coming up this week at DLG:

🏃‍♂️ Terry Fox Fundraising Total

We are proud to share that our school raised $1,070.20 for cancer research through our Terry Fox campaign. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped spread the word!  If you would still like to donate you can still visit the DLG donation page https://schools.terryfox.ca/99992

🎶 Winter Concert – Save the Date

Our annual Winter Concert will take place on Wednesday, December 18 in the early evening. This is always a highlight of the school year! Please save the date.

🧒 Kindergarten Registration Now Open

If you or someone you know has a child starting Kindergarten in September 2026, registration is now open. Visit the VSB website for details:

🏐 Volleyball Season

Our Junior Girls Volleyball Team will be playing Maple Grove at their school this Tuesday.
Let’s cheer on our Hornets—Go DLG!

⚽ Free Kick Soccer

Free Kick Soccer continues Wednesday after school for those who have signed up. We’re excited to see our students building skills and having fun!

🔒 Lockdown Drill – Friday

As part of our annual safety procedures, we will be conducting a lockdown drill this Friday. During the drill, students will move away from windows, classroom doors will be locked, and everyone will remain quiet. These drills (fire, earthquake, lockdown, shelter-in-place) are important for preparedness, even though we hope they’re never needed.

🌺 Remembrance Day Assembly – November 10

Our Remembrance Day Assembly will be held on Monday, November 10 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Families are welcome to attend. Seating is limited, but standing room is always available.

👥 PAC Meeting – Tuesday

Our monthly PAC Meeting is this Tuesday from 6:00–7:30 PM in the school library. All parents and caregivers are welcome.
