Dear David Lloyd George Families,

We had another great week at David Lloyd George!

On Thursday, the Honourable Marc Miller, Canada's Minister of Identity and Culture, shared the following message about Canadian Islamic History Month:

"Every year, October marks Canadian Islamic History Month, an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the many contributions of Muslim communities to Canada's history, culture and society."

At Friday's assembly, we learned about the Al Rashid Mosque in Edmonton, the first mosque built in Canada in 1938. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to learn more about Canadian history and the rich contributions of Muslim Canadians.

At DLG, we are grateful for the many cultures, languages, traditions, and experiences that make our school community so vibrant. Learning about one another helps us build understanding, respect, and a stronger sense of belonging for everyone.
