Welcome to DLG 2026-2027

Welcome Back 2026-2027

Dear Parents, Guardians, and David Lloyd George Community,

Welcome to a new school year! We’re thrilled to begin another year of fun, learning, and growth together at David Lloyd George Elementary. The first week of school is always a special time—full of excitement and anticipation. Just as many children have been counting down the sleeps, our dedicated staff have been preparing classrooms and activities to make the first day a joyful and welcoming experience.

Kindergarten Families

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you for all the love and care you’ve given your child over the past four years. Starting Kindergarten is a big milestone, and we are honoured that you’ve chosen David Lloyd George for this important journey. We deeply value your trust and look forward to partnering with you in your child’s education.

To help ease the transition, Kindergarten students will begin with a gradual entry. The school will have already reached out with details and next steps for the first few weeks of school.

Grade 1–7 Families

Welcome back! We’re excited to continue our partnership with you and your children this year.

  • First day of school: Tuesday, September 8
    • Students will attend for one hour only (9:00–10:00 AM)
    • Returning students should line up outside in the same spaces as their last year classes (please keep in mind the teacher may be different)
    • New students can check in at the Library (across from the Main Office)
  • Full-time attendance begins: Wednesday, September 9th
  • Class placements: To ensure thoughtful and supportive classroom assignments, final placements will hopefully be shared on Monday, September 14th, as directed by the Vancouver School Board.

A Huge Thank You For Creating Our New Outdoors!

As we begin another exciting school year, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the VSB Project Office, as well as our Grounds and Construction teams, for their incredible work in creating a beautiful new play and learning space for our students.

Their dedication, expertise, and attention to detail have transformed our outdoor area into a welcoming environment that will support learning, exploration, creativity, and play for years to come.

Most of the space is now ready for students to enjoy. You will notice that one section remains temporarily fenced off while the newly planted grass continues to take root and establish itself. We appreciate everyone's patience as this final area is given the time it needs to grow and thrive.

Thank you again to everyone involved in bringing this wonderful project to life. We are grateful for your hard work and commitment to creating an outstanding space for our school community.

Stay Tuned for More Updates

Please keep an eye on your email over the next few weeks, as we will be sending out additional messages with important updates, reminders, and helpful tips.

Messages will come either from my email address or from the David Lloyd George office at:
