Mme Eve's Report-September 2024

Dear Selkirk Community,

I am sharing with you the September Mme Eve's Report as well as information about Ms. Debra Sparrow, who is blanketing the City of Vancouver, and has blanketed our School.

I leave you to enjoy a poem shared by David Delorme, District Principal of Indigenous Education

Truth and Reconciliation Day

In the still of dawn, a new day starts,

A time to heal, for all our hearts.

We come together, hearts open wide,

To honour truths, we can’t deny.

The stories told, the pain revealed,

A nation’s wounds, now slowly heal.

With every step, we seek to mend,

To understand, to be a friend.

Orange shirts, a symbol bright,

For children lost, now return to light.

Their spirits soar, their voices heard,

In every heart, their memory stirred.

We walk this path, hand in hand,

To build a future, strong and grand.

Guided by truth, with love as our key,

We craft a world where all are free

So let us pledge on this day,

To come together, to stand, and pray.

Together in unity, we pave the way,

On this Truth and Reconciliation Day.

David Delorme

Be well,
Mme Eve
