Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

I hope this message finds you in great spirits and excited for the upcoming school year! It brings me immense joy to extend a warm welcome back to Mount Pleasant Elementary School for the academic year 2023-2024. We have been eagerly preparing for your return, and I am thrilled to share some important details about the first week of school.

This year, we have a total of 13 divisions, each representing the unique tapestry of our school community. It's heartwarming to witness our school grow and evolve, creating a dynamic and vibrant environment for all of us to thrive.

I am also delighted to introduce some new teachers who will be joining our exceptional team.  Alicia Ellis will be coming in to teach Kindergarten and Benson Wong is joining us as a grade 5/6 teacher.  Their dedication and passion for education will undoubtedly enhance our students' learning experiences, and I encourage you all to extend a warm Mount Pleasant welcome to them.

As we embark on this new school year, I'd like to inform you about the schedule for the first week:

Tuesday: First Day Back

• Students in grades 1 to 7 will join their last year's classes for a brief one-hour session from 9 to 10 am. This will serve as a wonderful opportunity for students to reconnect with their peers and teachers and ease back into the school routine.  If you are new to the school and your child is in grade 1-7 please check in at the office and your child will be taken to the library.

Wednesday to Friday: Transition Week

• Throughout the week, students will continue attending their last year's classes. Our dedicated teachers will use this time to create a seamless transition, ensuring that each student finds their way to their new classes and teachers by Friday.

By the end of the first week, we aim to have every student settled into their new classes and ready to embark on an enriching journey of learning and growth.

Please keep an eye out on your email for messages coming from the school.  Especially as the first few weeks of September go on there will be important information coming to you from, both, the school and your child's classroom teacher(s).  Thank you for your ongoing attention to these messages.
