Selkirk School is a designated Early Intervention school. This is a Vancouver School District initiative to help support student success in literacy in the early grades of Kindergarten and grade 1. Specifically, our primary teachers work collaboratively to ensure best practice in all classrooms and assess their students’ progress regularly to identify those students requiring additional assistance. Those students requiring intervention support receive it either in the form of small group assistance from a resource teacher or through Reading Recovery, an intensive one-to-one program to help our most struggling students.
