Parent Advisory Council

WHAT IS THE Parent Advisory Council?
The PAC is made up of parents and guardians, who volunteer their time and provide assistance with school-related events, issues and activities.>span >In order to provide the school with items not covered by government funding sources and to provide school community events, the PAC undertakes fundraising endeavours throughout the year. 

WHY SHOULD YOU BECOME INVOLVED IN THE PAC?

Benefits your children – Research has proven that children do better in school when parents are involved.
Means more informed parents
 – Parents involved in the PAC understand the challenges schools face and become part of the solution.
Gets you connected and gives you a voice – Because the PAC is a forum for exchanging ideas, change is created more effectively.
Makes you a good role model – You will be demonstrating to your children the importance you place on education.

The Purpose of the PAC is to:
Promote the education and welfare of students.
Encourage
 parent involvement in the school, and to support programs that promote parent involvement.
Promote
 leadership in the school community.
Contribute
 to a sense of community within the school and between the school, home, and neighbourhood.
Provide
 a forum for the discussion of education issues.
Assist
 parents in obtaining information and communicating with the principal and staff.


The meetings are held second Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons unless otherwise advertised. 
Childminding is always provided.  Please come join us!!!
