Safe Arrival

Please report your child's absence as soon as you know your child will be late or absent.

It is important to remember to let the school office know when your child is absent. Student safety is of paramount importance at the Vancouver School District. Ensuring student safety is a shared responsibility. In order to assist schools, we ask parents/guardians to notify schools of student absences. If your child will be late or absent from school, please phone the school to report this absence as early as possible. You may call the Safe Arrival Line at any time, 24 hours a day. Messages are checked in the morning. School offices are busy places: consistently notifying the school in advance of your child’s absence will significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Safe Arrival morning routine. If your child is coming in late, please have them report to the office to sign-in.

Shaughnessy's Safe Arrival Line - absences can be reported via three methods:

Please provide the following details: your child's name, grade, division, and length of absence (if applicable).

Thank you for teaching your children to arrive at school on time.  It is a life-long valuable lesson, and the teachers appreciate the courtesy.
