div 5

Inspired by the iconic Canadian artist Ted Harrison, Division 5's artwork showcases the beauty of nature and the joy of bold, vibrant colours.

Dear Laurier Families,

As I explained in the email I sent you yesterday, I will be leaving the vibrant, caring and outstanding Laurier community at the end of this school year, and embarking on a new journey as the Principal of Graham Bruce Elementary School and Collingwood Neighbourhood School in Vancouver. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful five years I have spent at Laurier. I will genuinely miss this beautiful community and will forever hold cherished memories of the students, parents, family members and staff. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Ms. Geri Gruft, who will be taking over as the new Principal of Laurier. Ms. Gruft is currently serving as Vice-Principal at Sir Richard McBride Annex. Please see attached my leaving letter at the bottom of this page in the Resources section.

Please see attached (in the Resources section at the bottom of this page), the 2023 Notice of Late Return Form. This form is to be completed for any student expecting to return to school LATER THAN noon on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, but prior to Friday, September 29, 2023. Are you returning in September 2023? If you are not returning to Laurier in September 2023 and have not yet informed us, please let the Office know immediately as this may affect class size and composition for the next school year.

Change of Address or Phone Number?

Please inform the Office if you have changed your address or telephone number. For safety and enrolment purposes, it is very important that the school office has this information.

Author Visit

Thank you so much to the PAC for sponsoring a visit from author/illustrator, Jeff Chiba Stearns. Jeff spoke to all the classes at Laurier and inspired them with his stories and drawings. You can check out his work at www.meditatingbunny.com.

Do You Have Any Laurier Library Books at Home?

Please make sure all the library books that have been borrowed from our school library are returned to school as soon as possible. Ms. Altman needs to do the inventory of our library books and we would like to have our collection complete and ready for next school year!
