The Vancouver School Board partners with Vancouver Community College to offer the SkilledTradesBC Youth TRAIN in Trades Hairstylist program.
This program is taught at Vancouver Community College (Pender Campus) and runs from September to June, three days per week.
The School District covers the cost of tuition for Level 1. However, students are responsible for purchasing their own program learning resources, tools and U-Pass.
Please note that students must be in grades 10 or 11 to apply for Youth Train in Trades programs. Grade 12 students may apply for Youth Train in Trades only if they can complete their program before they finish grade 12.
For more details on program dates, students should contact their counsellors, or email email@example.com
Students will learn: health and safety standards; industry expectations; styling techniques; hair cutting; and client assessment. Refer to the VCC website for a detailed outline: VCC Hairstylist Program.
