Absence Reporting

Please report student absences as follows:

  • By email (preferred method) - Please email by noon if you are able, with your student’s absence. Please include the following information: 
          FULL STUDENT NAME  (First and Last Name)
    The email absence report will only be considered valid if it is received from the parent/guardian email we have on file for your child
  • By phone 604-713-8927, office hours are from school days 8 AM to 3:45 PM
  • By note - Upon the student's return, students may pick up an absence note from the office, have their teachers from the missed classes sign the note, take it home to the parent/guardian to sign, and return to the office for entry into MyEd
  • Automated message - You will receive an automated message/email if the student has missed a class at any time of the school day that is unexcused. To correct any absent errors, the student must speak with the teacher who marked them absent/late
  • Signing out - If a student is ill during school hours they must come to the office to sign out. The office staff will contact their parent/guardian for permission
  • Field trips - The teacher is asked to compile a list of attendees for field trips based on forms returned to them. These lists are then forwarded to the office for data entry. If no list was received, you may get a call through our automated system

Student's are encouraged to to contact their teacher(s) when absent to access any missed notes and/or assignments
