Are you wondering how to set healthy boundaries around technology without constant conflict with your child? Looking for practical ways to help your child stay safe online while maintaining trust and open communication?

Join us for an engaging evening focused on helping families navigate today's digital world with confidence, sponsored by our Van Tech Parents' Advisory Committee (PAC).

What: Supporting Your Child Online

Who: The White Hatter, Q and A to follow the presentation

When: Monday, September 28th, 2026

Time: 7:00-9:00 PM (Doors open at 6:30 PM)

Where: Vancouver Technical Secondary School (in the auditorium)

Cost: Free Admission. Light refreshments will be served

Smartphones, social media, gaming platforms, and messaging apps are now a regular part of everyday family life. While technology can be a powerful tool for learning, creativity, and connection, it can also create challenges related to safety, sleep, mental health, peer pressure, and online behaviour.

This workshop is designed to help caregivers better understand what young people are experiencing online today, where common concerns arise, and how families can respond in ways that protect safety without damaging trust or credibility.

Rather than focusing on fear or overwhelming technical information, this session provides research-based insights, real-world examples, and practical strategies that families can use right away. Together, we will explore how strong relationships, clear boundaries, and open communication can help young people develop safer and healthier digital habits.
