As the library has always been a place to access resources you can use at home, we will continue to support students in this way. As we work on how the continuity of learning will look for the students, here are a few resources that will enhance literacy at home. Visit this page often for updates. 

Tumblebooks

A curated collection of over 11,000 eBooks, including animated storybooks, read-along chapter books, graphic novels, and videos. Free trial till August 31, 2020.

Storyline Online

Funded by the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, this website streams videos of celebrities reading children's books.

Audible

One of the most well-known audiobook platforms. They are offering a selection of free audiobooks books for kids. You can stream the audiobooks off your desktop, laptop, phone, or tablet.

Storytime From Space

Did you ever wonder how astronauts read a book in space? You need to check out this website, which is the project of the Global Space Education Foundation. They actually send children’s books to the International Space Station and record them reading it.

Mo Willem's Lunchtime Doodles

International Children's Digital Library

If you love to discover books from other countries, this is the website for you! You will find books written in different languages and published from many time periods. I found a book from 1900!

Project Gutenberg

If you love discovering classic literature, you have to check out Project Gutenberg. There are over 60,000 free eBooks which you can read online or download. Some of my favourites are Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, and The Secret Garden. Click the link below, and click "Bookshelves" in side menu, then choose "Children's Bookshelf" and then "Children's Literature."
