Mainstage auditions are after Spring Break every year.  You must be enrolled at Magee to audition.

THEATRE FUNDRAISER
Our beautiful theatre is in need of a facelift!  See below for more information.

Our 5 year plan is broadly outlined below:

Year 1: $80,000 – fill in below the apron to create a safe and sturdy base

Year 2: $20,000 – LED cyc lights as our old ones are failing or failed

Year 3: $100,000 – Create a modular apron that can be removed for choir concerts and put in for band, or adapted for theatre

Year 4: $50,000 – Rearrange the curtains and lighting to better cover the stage

Year 5: $50,000 – Begin to switch the dimmers and above the stage to LED lighting.

 Contributions: 

1. Find us a season sponsor!  We are hoping to find a season sponsor for ALL of the Fine Arts events at Magee for this school year at a cost of $25,000.  The sponsor would be on all printed materials – posters, programs, tickets - for every show this season (choir and band concerts, as well as all Mainstage and Players performances) and be mentioned in the speech at the beginning of every show.  If you know any amazing companies or people who would want to help us out in this way, please put us in contact!
2. Buy a plaque on a theatre seat – we have approximately 150 seats available to have your name plate put on.  The cost is $1000.  Fill out the attached form (SeatOrderForm.docx) and return it to mbyrne@vsb.bc.ca.  If you’d like to pay with a credit card, the link is here. 
3. Donate!  Follow the link to help us out.  Potential donations and their added value bonuses below
   1. $25

   3. $100 – free ticket to the Shoulda, Coulda, Wouldas – fundraiser in June this year
   4. $250 – above + free ticket to the Mainstage Musical this year
   5. $500 – above + mention in the programs of both Shoulda, Coulda, Wouldas, and the Mainstage Musical
   6. $1000 – above + ad in the Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda program

Mainstage is an intensive acting and production program in the senior years of Drama at Magee. 

Mainstage students become members of a production company with students playing a variety of roles as actor, director, and technician.  A wide range of productions usually includes comedies, dramas, musicals, and children’s touring programs.  In addition, students have extensive exposure to field professionals, workshops, festivals, and conferences.

Magee Mainstage puts special emphasis on orienting students to post-secondary programs and the profession through career counselling and audition coaching.  Mainstage is a two-year program, which gives credit for two courses in each year.

Prerequisite: A strong background in Drama is required.  Enrollment is limited and depends on an audition and the student’s specialization.  Magee Mainstage is an intensive production program for serious acting students and those who seek a challenge beyond that usually offered at the secondary level.  The highest standards of work and dedication are required
