Welcome to the Prince of Wales community! We are so excited to welcome our newest students and their families to PW for the 2026–27 school year.

We hope everyone had a wonderful summer and had a chance to relax, recharge, and enjoy some time with family and friends. We are looking forward to welcoming our students and staff back to the building and getting the new school year underway.

Starting secondary school is an exciting time, and we know there can also be a few nerves along the way. There is a lot that is new in Grade 8-new classrooms, new teachers, new routines, and a much bigger school community. Our staff are here to help students find their way, get connected, and feel comfortable as they settle into life at PW.

Please look for our detailed “Welcome Back” Newsletter, which will be emailed next week. It will include important dates and events, our weekly schedule, and information about school policies and procedures.

In the meantime, please take a look at this preview of the first week of school, including the schedule for our opening day on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

We are also excited for our annual Grade 8 Camp at Camp Jubilee! Students will depart from school at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23rd, and return by the end of the school day on Friday, September 25th. Students will stay in cabins and enjoy a variety of activities led by Camp Jubilee staff and supervised by our teachers.

Please review the attached information and complete the online waiver form at your earliest convenience. The permission form that is attached will be handed out to students once school starts but if you are able to print and sign prior to the grade assemblies it would be appreciated. We look forward to a fun and memorable camp experience!

To help families get ready for the year ahead, we will also be hosting a Grade 8 Parent Night on Tuesday, September 15 at 6:30 p.m. in the PW Auditorium. This will be an opportunity to meet other Grade 8 families, learn more about the transition to secondary school, and hear more about Grade 8 Camp. Our PAC will have coffee and treats available at 6:30 p.m. for families to meet and mingle, with the presentation beginning at 7:00 p.m.

We are looking forward to a great year and to getting to know our Grade 8 students and families. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to PW!
