Library / Learning Commons

The Gladstone Library Learning Commons (GLLC) is a teaching and learning area for classes, small groups and individuals to inspire their imagination and creativity, do research and find books for recreational reading. The Teacher Librarians at Gladstone work collaboratively with classroom teachers to teach students to become more effective, ethical and critical users of information. The Teacher Librarians are available to help students with research, technology, citations and more. Every student at Gladstone can find more information about the GLLC and the services available on the Library Learning Commons Channel on the All Students at Gladstone Team.

The Teacher Librarians also support recreational, self-selected reading, which can improve students’ reading achievement and improve their attitude toward reading as well as broaden their background knowledge base. The Teacher Librarians are continually acquiring new fiction and non-fiction materials, and encourage recommendations of authors, titles and topics from staff and students to add to the collection.

The VSB Digital Library, known as Destiny Discover, gives students access to materials on the shelves at Gladstone as well as the databases the VSB subscribes to in the BC Digital Library.

Usernames and passwords are needed to gain access.
