Byng Arts Mini Program

Byng Arts Mini Program

The Byng Arts Mini School, established at Lord Byng in 1999, is designed for students who wish to direct their energy and passion towards the Fine Arts. We are a community of young artists, and their mentors with opportunities to specialize in one of the following areas: Band, Choir, Drama, Media Arts, Strings, or Visual Arts with further opportunities are available in Literary Arts in Grade 11 and 12. Successful applicants will be curious and self-motivated, with a demonstrated record of strong artistic and academic achievement.

As a program within a larger school, Byng Arts, has all the benefits of a large setting, while also maintaining a strong sense of community. In addition to their Fine Art classes, Byng Arts students attend their junior English and Social Studies together as a cohort of motivated learners. participate in their senior Career and Personal planning program as a group, and join in events that feature community artists, musicians and performers - strengthening the collaboration between Byng and the professional arts community.
