Assessment and Reporting

Student Reporting

Student reporting is the assessment and communication of student learning, often thought of as report cards or learning updates.  Every student in BC receives communications from the school throughout the school year that provide parents, caregivers, and students with information about student learning.

In Grades 8 and 9, students will receive marks in their learning updates in the form of the Provincial Proficiency Scale:  Emerging, Developing, Proficient or Extending along with descriptive feedback which focuses on what students can do now and what they are working toward.

In Grades 10 to 12 letter grades and percentages will be used in the learning updates along with descriptive feedback.
