The School Library Program

The aim of the school library program at David Thompson Secondary  is to assist students to develop the skills necessary for life-long learning and  informed decision-making. To achieve this goal, the Teacher-Librarian and teachers collaboratively plan and implement lessons and units of study that integrate those skills necessary to locate, evaluate, organize, and present information from a variety of sources. The Teacher-Librarian provides instruction relating to critical inquiry, research skills, note-taking, and formal citation to help students develop, master, and extend research skills in different subject contexts. The school library program at David Thompson Secondary  also promotes language improvement and the enjoyment of reading.
