The Dos and Don'ts of Presenting
DO'S | DON'TS | |
Make eye contact with your audience. Look up. | Don't look at the ground or at your book the entire time.
Use "cue cards" with keywords as your guide. | Don't use or read from your written assignment.
Speak slowly and clearly. | Don't rush or finish quickly. You want your audience to remember what you have said.
Speak loudly. | Don't mumble, whisper, or put your hands in front of your face.
Be enthousiastic. Show some interest. | Don't sound bored by the book.
Use "all" your voice. | Don't talk like a machine, or in monotones.
Make us want to read your story. | Don't tell us your story. Do not give away the ending. |
