About VSB's online learning program:

Since 1990, the Vancouver Learning Network (VLN) has provided a high-quality, comprehensive, and engaging online learning program for students exploring an alternative to in-person learning.

Why choose online learning?

  • Personalize your learning to fit your schedule, timelines and goals
  • Take online courses to fast-track your education
  • Upgrade marks or complete prerequisites for post-secondary entrance
  • Complete courses for high school graduation
  • Advance skills for personal interest or future employment

How it works:

Online learning is a great option for elementary, secondary and adult students that need flexibility in their studies. VLN works with students and families to determine if online learning is the right fit. Students work directly with a VLN counsellor to create a personalized learning plan to establish goals for their coursework.

Coursework is provided to students based on the BC curriculum and is assessed by VSB teachers. VLN offers an elementary and secondary program with 90+ secondary level courses, including some Advanced Placement. For a list of available course, view: Course List.

Program eligibility:

Online courses are available to students across the province. Tuition is free to school age students who are Canadian citizens that reside in British Columbia. For information regarding fees for adults and non-BC residents, see: Tuition Fees.

Registration:

With continuous enrollment, secondary students can register for courses at any time. For more information on student registration, see the table below or visit: How to Enroll.
