Information for Parents

WELCOME TO DAVID THOMPSON

Traditionally, DT has hosted our incoming grade 7 students to a tour of this school.  This year, our New Faces Leaders (NFL) has produced a video virtual tour.  Hope you enjoy it!

Attendance is important!

Regular attendance in all classes is essential for every student in order for them to achieve academic success.

·         If you receive an unexpected notification from the school regarding class absences or lates, please have a conversation with your son or daughter to reinforce the importance of being present for all classes.

·         If you frequently receive notifications from the school regarding class absences or lates, please contact the teacher(s) of the class(es) and/or the grade counsellor and/or administrator to discuss how we can work with you to help your son or daughter to establish better habits.

·         Please try to schedule appointments so that they do not interfere with class times.

·         Please do not schedule family holidays during regular school days.  It is not reasonable to expect teachers to spend extra time with students who miss important instructional time and learning opportunities due to family vacations.
