Highlights: Policy and Governance Committee Meeting: May 11, 2022

The Policy and Governance Committee held its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.  

Staff provided both updates and new Administrative Procedures (AP) to the committee. All APs are reviewed by the Administrative Procedures Working Group, which includes stakeholder input, feedback and suggestions on proposed revised and new APs.  The working group reviewed:

·       AP 385 Extra Curricular Activities (new)

·       AP 385 A School Club Registration Form Template (new)

·       AP 403 Social Media Guidelines (new)

·       AP 541A Renaming Existing School Facilities (revision)

·       AP 400A Living Wage (new)

·       AP 550 Purchasing (revision)

As per usual process, the above APs have been approved by the Superintendent for inclusion in the Administrative Procedures Manual. The full version of each AP can be found in the agenda.

Following this discussion, the committee heard about a workshop planned on May 12, 2022 with stakeholders to review and ensure that standing committees function in alignment with their primary purpose of acting “in an advisory capacity to the Board”. The goal of the workshop is gather stakeholder input on how the standing committees can be improved in order to best advise the work of the Board.
