Together with school communities across B.C. and beyond, the Vancouver School Board (VSB) is deeply saddened by the tragic event in Tumbler Ridge yesterday. Our thoughts are with the entire community, and especially the students, their families and staff of Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. Flags are at half-mast in light of this tragedy. 

News such as this can be unsettling for members of school communities. Here at VSB, supports are available for students and staff, and school teams are ready to help connect anyone who could use some additional support with resources and services. A message is being sent to families directly from their schools that includes information about how to navigate these difficult times.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Tumbler Ridge community and hold them close in our thoughts as they navigate the challenging journey ahead. May the support and compassion of others help provide strength during this time.
