Earthquake Drill – Important Information Please Read Carefully

Carleton Cunningham will be participating in the BC Shake Out Earthquake Drill.  Our drill will begin at 9:30am.  Students will be evacuated to the main field.  Staff will set up our re-unification systems and several other emergency stations.

We are asking for some help from a few families to simulate picking up your child in the event of an emergency.  This is just a simulation you will not be taking your child home for the day.

If you would like to help, we are asking that you wait on the sidewalk along 37th Ave in the front of the school at 9:40am. You will need wait in the line for the reunification table, show your ID and a school staff runner will go to get your child.  You can say hello to your child and then they will return to their class grouping on the field.  If you think that seeing their family at the drill will be too disruptive for your child, maybe this year isn’t the year to volunteer for this event.  If you think your child will be okay to see you and return to their class, we are happy to have your help.  It isn’t essential you volunteer, only if you are available to do so.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Pizza Day – You are now able to order Pizza for all upcoming Pizza Days until the Winter Break.  They are posted on SchoolCashOnline.

After School Programs -   There was a lot of interest in our after school programs.  Unfortunately, we don’t have enough spaces for all of the students to attend. We held a lottery and children who were selected in the lottery have been notified.  All other students are on a waitlist, if a space becomes available our Youth and Family Worker, Sarah, will get in contact with you.

Have a wonderful week.
