Highlights: Personnel Committee Meeting of May 18, 2022

The District Personnel Committee Meeting was held on May 18, 2022. District staff provided a staffing recruitment update noting that there were 180 teacher candidates currently in District schools, providing a rich opportunity for recruitment. 

From June 1, 2021 – May 6, 2022:

-       445 teaching jobs and 312 SSA jobs were posted

-       334 teachers either resigned or retired

-       152 SSA/SSB staff resigned or retired  

-       331 teachers, 160 SSA/SSB staff, 34 office support staff, 52 supervision aides and 43 Custodial staff were hired

As of May 6, 2022, there were 792 active on-call teachers working in the District.

Based on SSA exit information, some reasons for staff leaving include a move to another district, returning to school, new job or personal reasons.

Staff also presented an employee Wellness Framework for 2022-2026 which included a vision statement and goals to improve the employee experience, ensure equitable access to programs, and promote wellness through Indigenous knowledge and perspectives.
