The Vancouver School Board (VSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Lorelei Russell as the executive director, finance for the Vancouver School Board (VSB), effective October 27, 2025.

Lorelei brings nearly 17 years of dedicated service to VSB, most recently serving as a director in employee services. Lorelei’s service to VSB also includes several months as the interim executive director, employee services. During her tenure with VSB, she led strategic initiatives in compensation and benefits, labour relations, workforce analytics and HR strategy. A respected and trusted colleague, Lorelei’s leadership has been instrumental in fostering inclusivity and collaboration across our VSB.

Prior to joining the VSB, Lorelei was responsible for full cycle accounting and financial statement preparation for 18 years with private businesses in construction and manufacturing sectors. With her extensive background in strategic human resources leadership and financial management, she brings a unique and valuable perspective to the leadership of VSB’s finance division.

Lorelei’s deep understanding of the school district’s operations, combined with her commitment to excellence and collaboration, will be instrumental in advancing VSB’s financial stewardship and strategic goals.
