DLG Weekly Update: October 14 – 17, 2025
Dear DLG Families,
We hope you had a restful long weekend! Here's what's happening this week at David Lloyd George Elementary:
🎉 PAC Meeting – Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the PAC meeting on October 7. It was a wonderful opportunity to share ideas, discuss initiatives, and connect as a school community.
🗓️ Next PAC Meeting: Monday, November 4
📚 Books for Breakfast – Wednesdays
Our beloved Books for Breakfast program is back! Every Wednesday morning, families are invited to join us in the library to read together and enjoy a light breakfast of fruit, muffins, juice, and coffee.
👨👩👧 Reminder: Children must be accompanied by a caregiver.
🙏 A big thank-you to Ms. Verity Heap for organizing this wonderful program!
📸 Individual Photo Day – Thursday, October 16
Smile! Photo Day is this Thursday. We’ll begin with our youngest students and work our way up through the grades.
👕 Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for their photo.
🌍 Earthquake Drill – Friday, October 17
Safety first! We will be conducting our first earthquake drill on Friday afternoon. Students will practice Drop-Cover-Hold and safely exit the building.
📅 A more comprehensive drill, including reunification procedures, will take place in May.
👻 Halloween Costume Awareness
As Halloween approaches, we encourage families to choose costumes that are inclusive and respectful. Please avoid costumes that appropriate other cultures.
📎 A helpful flyer is attached to guide you in selecting fun and thoughtful costumes.
