The Vancouver School Board is proud to support childcare across our district, with programs already operating in most of our elementary schools. We continue to prioritize expanding before and after school care on school grounds. Future growth will be supported through provincial childcare capital funding, contributions from the City of Vancouver, and neighbourhood learning spaces in new schools. Our commitment is to build strong partnerships with childcare operators and ensure that high-quality, inclusive childcare is available in safe, welcoming school environments.

Families can find information about available childcare programs at VSB elementary schools by visiting the school’s individual website and selecting the Families tab, followed by the Before and After School Care drop-down menu. 

Families can also access information about childcare using Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR) Centres, which are funded by the Ministry of Education and Child Care. CCRR centres provide information, resources, referrals, and guidance to both parents and childcare providers. All families in Vancouver can access CCRR services through the Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre.
