L'Ecole Bilingue Fundraiser Features Cake Walk, Corn on the Cob and Vij's Chicken Curry

This year L'Ecole Bilingue's "Welcome Back BBQ" was held on Thursday, September 22. Although official tallies have yet to be submitted, the school believes that just over 700 meal tickets were sold.

Hamburgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs and Vij's famous Curry Chicken pilaf were enjoyed by those families and community members who attended.

"Thank you to the Grade 7 parents for all the cakes for the Cake Walk and to our Grade 7 students for their participation and leadership," said Burt Frenzell, the principal of L'Ecole Bilingue.

The proceeds of the fundraiser all go to sending the school's Grade 7 students for a cultural and linguistic exchange to Quebec City in May, 2012.

Frenzell says it was a wonderful community event, adding the Quebec Exchange lead parents need to be specially recognized for all their enthusiasm, hard work and commitment to bringing the fundraiser to fruition.
