Grade 12 Prince of Wales Student Jing Wang Sworn in as VSB Student Trustee

On Monday, September 15, Grade 12 Prince of Wales Secondary student Jing Wang was sworn in as the district's second Student Trustee.

Jing Wang

Wang has been enrolled in the public education system ever since she took her first steps into kindergarten and says she has always admired the friendly environment and countless opportunities it has to offer.

When Wang isn't in school, she says she spends a lot of her time practicing Chinese traditional and ethnic dance with the Cindy Yang Dance Academy, singing along with her piano, engaging in the newest Globe and Mail bestseller, and discovering new adventures with her friends.

Since starting secondary school, Wang has been involved in both her school's student council and the Vancouver District Students' Council. She says her signature accomplishments include helping to organize the VDSC Sister School Switch, which involved organizing students from schools across the district to visit "sister schools" for a week of class and activities. Wang also says she has enjoyed being involved in numerous school plays and musicals.

She says she is very excited to serve as the VSB's Student Trustee in the coming school year.
