This year, the VSB has a number of great PRO-D opportunities for district educators. 

A Celebration of Inquiry Learning

On October 15, VSB educators are invited to join a Celebration of Inquiry Learning at the VSB Ed Centre between 4 and 6 PM. The event will include opening remarks, tasty treats and a chance for educators to do some informal sharing of their collaborative inquiry learning. Inner City Conference

On November 28, Inner City elementary school staff are invited to attend the Inner City Conference being held at Van Tech. The conference is being planned through an Inner City staff working group consisting of inner city teachers, support staff, administrators and district staff. The format of the conference will include welcoming remarks, a student presentation, keynote speaker, a question and answer section, refreshment as well as school team break-out sessions followed by a bagged lunch with entertainment (provided by VICES) in the Van Tech Cafeteria.

An Interactive Session with Dr. John Almarode

On February 19, 2015 Dr. John Almarode, author of "Captivate, Activate and Invigorate the Student Brain in Science and Math: Grades 6 to 12" will be coming to University Hill Secondary's Main Floor for a half-day session from 8:30 to 11:30 AM.  During his session, he'll explore current adolescent brain research with practical and interactive workshops designed to allow participants to learn, engage and acquire strategies educators can use to enhance their professional practice with adolescent learners.
