EXEC Program
Program Description
This program is designed to meet the needs of students in Grade 8 through 12 who meet the Ministry of Education criteria for a Giftedness (P) designation and a low-incidence or behaviour designation, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (G) designation, Chronic Health (D) designation, or Intensive Behaviour (H) designation. The program supports students with their Executive Functioning skills, hence the name EXEC. Compensatory strategies and Social-Emotional Learning are also integral to supporting students in the program.

Student Profile
Students are appropriate for placement in this program when they meet Ministry of Education criteria for a Giftedness (P) designation, and a low-incidence or behaviour designation, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (G) designation, Chronic Health (D) designation, or Intensive Behaviour (H) designation.
Referral Process
Gifted referrals must be submitted to the District Case Manager, High Incidence.
Documentation Required
- completed “Request for Designation &/or Special Education Program Placement” form
- completed “Pre-Referral Intervention Strategies” (PRIS) form
- Psycho-educational assessment or an alternative standardized assessment
- Report Card
- School Based Team minutes
- current grade equivalent reading level
Placement Evaluation
Student placement is reviewed every spring with the goal of returning students to their home schools. A transition plan between the EXEC program staff and the receiving school is established.
