Continuing Ed Fashion Class Create Fabric Works of Art

For Vancouver fashion lovers with a DIY spirit, there's plenty to choose from when it comes to fashion design courses. Starting this month, VSB Continuing Education instructor Gabriela Peana will be giving a range of evening courses including a Wearable Arts course aimed at helping students transform everyday fabric into beautiful artistic and wearable designs.

The course allows students to be as creative as they want while they are guided in professional fabric painting technique.

Peana says she tends to see a variety of students with different goals in the Wearble Arts Course including many students who prefer VSB Continuing Ed's fast paced environment, low-prices and hands on training to what's offered at private colleges and art schools. She says some of her students come straight from secondary school and use the course to build their portfolio in order to enter into a post-secondary art and fashion school.

By the end of the course, students will be encouraged to take their fashion creations and enter them into this year's Port Moody Wearable Arts Show.

In addition to the Wearable Arts course, VSB Continuing Education also offers a range of other fashion related courses including Fashion Illustration (Sept 26), Fashion Design (Sept 28) and Sewing: Wearable Arts (Sept 24).
