Weir Elementary Community Raises Money for iPads and Variety Charity

Variety

Weir Elementary's parents and community have been busy raking in the money for good causes. On December 10, 2013, the PAC held its first ever Night Market. It was a huge success with great support from staff, students, parents and the community. Teacher Jenny Lee says the event would not have been possible without the support of school Principal Heather Gascoigne and Vice Principal Stephen Leung as well as the entire Weir PAC.

Staff, students and parents also showed their hearts by purchasing a gold heart to support Variety, a charity for special needs children of British Columbia. People all around school can be seen proudly wearing their gold hearts, a symbol of the Variety charity.

All the donations raised were presented on TV during the annual Show of Hearts Telethon on January 25 to 26, 2014.
